I know, it’s still winter and here I am continuing with the gardening posts, and today I even have the nerve to propose planning for summer. Summer can be the hardest part about school gardens. Finally, all the produce comes piling in…and there aren’t any students to harvest it!
Growing Gardens has a compiled a helpful manual that describes various ways of solving the summer garden problem. They spoke with a variety of schools and summarized the solutions those schools use, with the hope that the ideas will help other schools. The result is a well-organized, thoughtful booklet that would be helpful to any school figuring out garden maintenance.
