GSTA Starts Tomorrow!

I’m so excited for this year’s Georgia Science Teacher’s Association (GSTA) Conference, kicking off tomorrow in Columbus, Georgia. I will be busy on Friday. Catch me at any of these sessions, or let me know if you’d like to meet up!

10 a.m. 209 Purrfect Research is so Doggone Fun! Students use research to design experiments, engineering tasks, and more. I’ll introduce an exciting research cycle for students, using fun examples from two of my recent books on pets.
11 a.m. 209 Fantastic Phenomena: How research on the physics and biology of animal motion can drive 3D lessons Elephant trunk forces. Larvae and aquaponics. Sniffing in the star-nose mole. Learn the science and get GSE-aligned activities based in super-engaging research from GA Tech’s Hu Lab.
4 p.m. 103 Obtain, evaluate, and communicate! Reading and Writing in Science -The Perfect Combination GaDOE has partnered with a Georgia author to create reading, writing and science videos. Find out how to access the videos and use them for yourself or for group staff development.
