The Georgia Science Teachers Association (GSTA) District 2 does an annual one-day workshop, focusing on some of the hard to teach physical and Earth science content (grades K-12). I went this E.L.I.P.S.E workshop last year and came back with a lot of good ideas. It’s basically free–$5 for GSTA members (you don’t have to be District 2) or $10 for nonmembers—but you can bring a colleague for free at either price level. You’ll get that much back in door prizes and freebies. This year’s workshop is January 26 in Gainesville, so register today.

Speaking of GSTA…
… the annual conference is February 14-16 in Columbus, GA. This is always a good conference. There are so many talented educators in Georgia, and the sessions tend to be very practical and ready-to-use. Registration is open now.
