If you’ll be in Athens tomorrow for the Georgia Children’s Book Awards and Conference, I’d love to see you. I’ll be presenting twice. At 1:10  I’ll be doing STEAM Up-Close: Close observation, close inquiry, close reading–and my friend and non-fiction writing guru Heather L. Montgomery is going to be able to join me (room C). At 4:15 I’ll be with a whole cadre of local children’s authors talking about our books in Children’s Authors in Your Own Backyard (room k). Finally (FREE FOOD), you can come to the SCBWI reception (FREE FOOD) from 5 to 6:30 to eat (FREE FOOD) and talk with local authors (FREE FOOD) in the Magnolia Ballroom (FREE FOOD)!
